Rett NZ has a set of forums at NZORDforums where we can come together and discuss issues, share ideas, report news or just chat with each other.

Using the forums

The forums are very easy to use. There are only a few things you have to know.

The most important thing that you must know is that you have to 'register' to post messages to the forums. Details on registering are in the next section below. When you register, you must choose a username and password. When you came back to use the forums again, you have to log in with this username and password, though your computer may have remembered them for you.

Registering

You must register before you can post in any of the forums. Register by following the ' Register' link at the forums. You will then be asked to accept the terms of use. Next, you must fill in the 'Registration Information', including copying a 'Confirmation Code' that is displayed by distorted text on a coloured background. (The confirmation code is intended to keep spammers away from the forums. It can be hard to get the code right, but you can try several times.) Note that you are not required to enter anything in the 'Profile Information'; anything you add under 'Profile Information' can be viewed by any user who looks at your profile. Finish registering by clicking the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the page.

The administrator will then activate your account, which may take a day or two. If you have any troubles registering, contact the forums administrator directly at forumsadmin@nzord.org.nz.

If you not able to post or reply to posts in the forums, it may be that you are not logged in. You can log in on the front page of the forums or by following the ' Log in' link.

Following a discussion and starting new topics

Contributing to a discussion is very easy. Simply click on the  link while you are reading the discussion. You can then add a post that will be added to the end of the discussion.

You can start a new discussion by clicking on the  link from anywhere inside the forum you want the discussion to appear in. When starting a new discussion thread, you must supply a 'subject' that lets people know the subject of the discussion.
